When you turn on the camera, you will see “Focus” next to “Superzoom” below the record button. Take a selfie or switch to a rear camera to find friends. As long as someone is shooting, you will notice that this person keeps focus and the background is slightly blurred – make sure they stand out in striking ways. Just click on the photo or click and hold to record the video. Once completed, you can add creative tools such as filters, stickers, and text to your photos or videos before sending them to your friends on Instagram Direct or adding them to your story.
We also launched the @mention sticker on iOS, which makes it easier to connect with friends in the story. After taking a photo or video on the story camera, open the sticker tray, click the @ sticker, start typing the account name you want to mention, and select from the options that appear. Then you can rotate, zoom and place the sticker anywhere you like.
Focus can be used on iPhone SE, 6S, 6S +, 7, 7 +, 8, 8 + and X and selected Android devices.
This update is available as part of iOS version 39.0 in Apple App Store and Android version in Google Play.
